Today at school, we had our fire drill exercise at around 1.00 pm. While our teacher was teaching a lesson, the fire alarm blasted out of the PA system all around the school. Although we knew that it was just an exercise, some people still shouted and screamed in an irritating manner. The alarm continued to sound at a resounding volume for 2 minutes and finally stopped. Then our principal, announced that there was a fire at the third floor and we have to evacuate to the field immediately. Walking down to the field, students were still joking and laughing, knowing that it was an exercise. I think that they should treat it as a real situation and be more serious about it. Who knows what would happen next, or tommorow, or even next week? All these situations are so unpredictable that we would not know what will happen tomorrow! I think that these execises are very useful and efficient as it teaches us the right route to use for evacuation. Not only that, it can save our lives by leaving the school safely. Thus, we should really take these exercises really seriously to avoid any threat that threatens our safety.
